Absolutely. Autopage has sophisticated controls for breaking and positioning variations such as tinted and boxed layouts.

Firstly, layouts can be created manually and then given to Autopage for pagination. Or, the user can specify simple codes for Autopage to automatically create the different layouts. Examples can be found of Autopage's capabilities.

In addition to standard Quark boxes and their capabilities, one of the Autopage options called 'Custom Frames' will allow different boxes to be placed depending on how the box breaks. This ability facilitates layouts which require open boxes, for example, when breaking across pages. All of the standard layout specifications you create are adhered to, so rules for widow and orphan control, for example, also apply to boxed material.
